Blockwatchers Program Comes to Park Hill

On October 10th, Officer Steve Kerner of the Third Precinct Yonkers Police trained Park Hill community members to participate in the Blockwatchers Program.   Interest in the program had come out of collaborative efforts between the Third Precinct Police Community Council and several residents of the Hillside-Alta-Overcliff area.  Those who took part in the training were instructed on best practices for describing potential criminal activity happening in or around the neighborhood and identifying and describing suspects.  They were also provided with a specific identification number that allows you to identify yourself as part of the Blockwatchers Program while reporting the activity anonymously.  All in attendance agreed that the training was valuable and would be a big help in deterring unwanted activity in the neighborhood.
